How it works
A transparent path from CAD file to a manufacturing estimate you can act on.
1 · Secure upload
Your STEP or STP file is validated in the browser and stored in a private bucket scoped to your account. Nobody outside your account and our engineering team can retrieve it.
2 · Geometry analysis
The file is passed to our CAD analysis service, which extracts bounding box, volume, surface area, feature and hole counts, and an estimated machining time. In this MVP the analysis service returns clearly-labelled estimated values; a real STEP geometry engine plugs into the same interface.
3 · Manufacturing configuration
Choose your process — fiber or CO₂ laser cutting, laser engraving or 3D printing (FDM/SLA/SLS) — plus material, quantity, surface finish, tolerance class, threading and engraving. Any special requirements go in the notes field and are reviewed by an engineer.
4 · Transparent pricing
The quotation engine combines material cost, machining time at the machine hourly rate, setup and tooling, finishing, tolerance and complexity multipliers, quantity discounts and margin. Every factor is configurable — no hidden black box.
5 · Estimate and lead time
You get a unit price, total price, production time and estimated delivery window with a confidence level, plus the full cost breakdown.
6 · Engineering review
Request a final quote and our team validates manufacturability, adjusts pricing and lead time where needed, and confirms before production release.
