Terms, disclaimer & liability

1. Nature of the configurator

The LDST Configurator provides indicative, automated estimates for laser cutting, laser engraving and 3D printing based on the files and settings you supply. The prices, lead times and manufacturability feedback shown are not a binding offer. Every request is reviewed manually by LDST Services before a final quote, production release or delivery commitment is made.

2. Quotes are estimates only

• The automated estimate may change after engineering review due to hidden geometry, unsupported features, material availability, machine capacity, finishing requirements or shipping costs.
• A configurator estimate does not reserve stock, machine time or delivery slots.
• Only a written confirmation from LDST Services (by email or through the admin review flow) constitutes a binding quote.

3. Your files and design responsibility

• You guarantee that you own the rights, or have permission, to upload, convert, quote and produce every file you submit.
• You are responsible for the accuracy, scale, units, tolerances, hole sizes, thread specifications, clearances and overall fitness for purpose of your CAD files, sketches, vectors and images.
• Automated conversions (STEP to DXF, sketch to DXF/STEP/STL, PDF/AI/EPS/SVG to DXF, unfolding of bent sheet metal) are provided as a convenience. The output may contain approximations, missing features or incorrect dimensions. Always verify the converted file before approving production.
• You must not upload files that contain malware, viruses, illegal content, hate speech, or material that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.

4. Manufacturing realities and tolerances

• Laser-cut, engraved and 3D-printed parts are subject to process-specific tolerances, surface finish variations, kerf width, heat-affected zones and layer lines.
• Material edges may be sharp and may contain burrs. Parts may have sharp corners, spatter, dross or rough edges, especially on metals. Always handle with care and perform any deburring, cleaning or finishing required for your application.
• Material thickness, colour, grain, coating and batch may vary within commercially acceptable limits. The final part may differ in appearance from on-screen previews or rendered images.
• Holes, slots, tabs, bend radii and engraved details may deviate from the nominal CAD model depending on the process, material and machine settings selected.
• For bent sheet-metal parts, the unfolded flat pattern is an approximation. Bend allowance, springback, tooling and material behaviour can affect final dimensions.

5. Colour engraving and 3D printing previews

On-screen previews of colour engravings and 3D-printed parts are simulations. Actual results depend on the laser source, material batch, surface preparation, lighting and post-processing. LDST Services cannot guarantee that a rendered preview will exactly match the physical part.

6. Use, safety and compliance

• You are solely responsible for determining whether a part is safe and suitable for its intended use, including load-bearing, medical, aerospace, automotive, food-contact, electrical or safety-critical applications.
• LDST Services does not certify parts to any industry standard unless explicitly agreed in writing.
• Parts supplied may have sharp edges, burrs or small features that could present choking, cutting or mechanical hazards. Keep away from children unless the design has been reviewed for safety.

7. Delivery and lead times

Estimated lead times are indicative and exclude shipping transit time, customs clearance, payment delays, rework caused by file issues, or delays outside our reasonable control. LDST Services is not liable for consequential losses caused by late delivery.

8. Intellectual property and confidentiality

• You retain ownership of your designs. By uploading files you grant LDST Services a limited licence to use them solely for the purpose of quoting, producing and delivering your parts.
• We store files in private, access-controlled storage and do not publish or share them publicly. However, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorised access, data breach or force majeure events.

9. Account, authentication and age

You must provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account. The service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old or who have the consent of a legal guardian.

10. Cancellation and changes

Once production has started, cancellations or changes may not be possible and may incur costs. Requests to modify or cancel must be submitted in writing as soon as possible.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LDST Services and its operators, employees and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, business interruption or reputational harm, arising out of or relating to the use of this configurator, any estimate, any file conversion, or the manufacture, delivery or use of any part.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service or any part produced through it is limited to the amount actually paid by you for the specific parts giving rise to the claim, or €250, whichever is lower.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless LDST Services from any claim, loss, liability or expense arising from your use of the service, your files, your breach of these terms, or the use of any part produced for your application.

13. No warranty

The configurator and all conversions, estimates and previews are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the configurator after changes are published means you accept the revised terms.
